Essential Knitting Tools
I could give you a long list of beautiful, fun tools that I LOVE to have in my knitting bag. But if you’re just beginning, you may not want to invest in all the bits & pieces just yet. The ESSENTIAL tools come down to just 6 things: needles, yarn, scissors, stitch markers, darning needle & a measuring device.
1- Needles- knitting needles come in 3 basic types: straight, circular & double pointed
2-Yarn-Yarn can be from animal, plant, or even synthetic sources. The fiber content will greatly affect the outcome of your knitting
3-Scissors-Any cutting instrument will do in a pinch! But you'll want a small pair of scissors handy
4-Stitch markers- Markers can be as simple as a little loop of spare yarn. But it's fun to get colorful ones
5-Darning Needle-A sewing needle with a large eye will help you weave in ends, finish seams & more
6-Measuring Device-A measuring tape or ruler is very handy when determining the size your knitting should be
